Imperial College of Science, Technology and Medicine
ICL is a science-based institution with a reputation for excellence in teaching and research, consistently rated amongst the world's best universities. Our primary tasks as a project partner are the provision expertise and capacity in:
- metabolomics and fluxomics in toxicological models and human samples;
- omics integration;
- computational chemistry with specific reference to advanced moleculardynamics.
ICL will contribute to the HeCaToS project through two research departments.
ICL-BMM
The Biomolecular Medicine (BMM) section, established by Prof. Jeremy Nicholson within ICL is a world-leading group in metabolomics. Together with over 50 researchers, BMM possesses substantial analytical facilities (CE-MS, LC-QTOF-MS, LC-TQ-MS,LC-Orbitrap-MS, GC-MS, NMR) with the capacity to conduct large (n>10,000) molecular profiling studies. BMM’s work in toxicological applications of metabolomics extends to several hundred manuscripts.
ICL-ICB
The Institute for Chemical Biology (ICB) within ICL is a world-leading centre forchemical biology with strong links with pharmaceutical and chemical industries thatspecialises in modelling, measurement and manipulation of protein-protein and proteinlipidinteractions.
